Waterline sizing

Help prevent low water pressure with a layout sized right from the start.

Plan separate cold and hot water trees, estimate fixture demand, and see the PEX-A size each section needs.

WHY IT’S USEFUL

Waterline sizing is a balance: too small can mean noisy, high-velocity runs and pressure loss; too large can waste material and slow hot-water delivery. The planner shows the tradeoff section by section.

WHAT IT DOES

Useful detail without the spreadsheet.

01

Two demand methods

Use WSFU with Hunter’s Curve for diversified demand or direct GPM for a simple peak-flow sum.

02

Independent hot + cold trees

Build each leg separately so fixtures and loads stay attached to the pipe that actually serves them.

03

Hydraulic checks

See actual velocity and Hazen-Williams pressure drop behind the recommended PEX-A size.

USE IT WHEN

The answer needs to travel with the work.

  • ✓Laying out a new house or remodel before rough plumbing
  • ✓Comparing conservative, standard, and aggressive sizing targets
  • ✓Checking whether a long branch needs to step up in size
